The ONCE Foundation has a source of financing for each financial year equivalent to 3% of the gross returns obtained from cupón sales. This figure represents practically one-third of the resources devoted by the ONCE to social services, in the region of 80 million euros. Moreover, in recent years, the Foundation’s budget has been supplemented by funds from the European Union (Feder and the European Social Fund), which are used to undertake "non-discrimination" programmes for the disabled.
The ONCE Foundation’s main objective is the implementation of programmes for integration in the job market (training and employment for the disabled) and global accessibility in order to overcome all types of barriers.
More and better employment
- More Integration
The ONCE Foundation's maximum priority at this moment is the creation of jobs for the disabled. With the conviction that the best way of achieving a normal lifestyle for the disabled is through their integration in the job market, the ONCE Foundation sets aside approximately 70% of its annual budget for its Training and Employment Plan. The creation of jobs in the area of the ONCE Foundation is implemented through the following channels: FUNDOSA Group companies (an instrumental company in the ONCE Foundation), external transitions, labour mediation on the part of Fundosa Social Consulting, occupational vacancies and assistance for self-employment.
Since the beginning of its activities, the ONCE Foundation collaborates with the public administrations, companies, private individuals and the disabled association movement in the development of programmes and projects that facilitate the obtainment of professional qualifications and access to the job market of the disabled, through training and the creation of stable employment.
The ONCE Foundation has created more than 45,000 jobs and occupational vacancies since 1988.This makes the ONCE Foundation the leading social and economic operator and creator of employment in the disabled sector in Spain.
The ONCE Foundation advocates quality employment and, in terms of equal opportunities, the promotion of disabled women, people who are seriously affected by their disability (with disabilities in excess of 65%), young disabled persons, disabled persons over 45 years of age and the disabled who, because of their disability, individual and/or social situation, have greater difficulties when it comes to finding and/or keeping a job.
