In order to meet its members’ special needs resulting from their blindness or visual impairment, the ONCE makes available to them a wide range of aids and benefits to support their education and training and to promote the development of professional and cultural activities. The aim is to guarantee a minimum level of social wellbeing as well as to cooperate in the purchase of materials, devices and specific aids – optical, electronic or technological – to facilitate their everyday life and mobility. Most noteworthy are programmes for adapting the place of study or work, through which any student or worker affiliated to the ONCE can borrow the specific equipment necessary to carry out their educational or labour activity in an autonomous and independent way, without this involving any cost whatsoever, either for the ONCE member or the educational centre or firm in question. |
