CEOSA: Social and financial profitability

The ONCE became interested in the world of business in an effort to find ways to create employment alternatives to the sale of the Cupón and to offer career choices to qualified blind people, as well as to find additional sources of financing. Starting in 1986, the ONCE bought holdings in companies with proven solvency. A few years later, in 1993, it grouped these holdings into a single company, thus giving birth to the ONCE Business Corporation, S.A. (CEOSA), a group of socially responsible companies.
Their accumulated experience allowed CEOSA to develop into a consolidated company with interests in real estate promotion, services to companies, tourism, insurance, food and beverage, street furniture and physiotherapy.
CEOSA’s activities are currently integrated in the industrial branch of the ONCE Directorate General and features its own Board of Directors comprised of representatives from the ONCE, in its capacity as the Organization’s sole shareholder.
True to its founding objective of creating employment for persons with disabilities, 10% of the CEOSA staff consists of workers representing this social group, who show each and every day that persons with disabilities are every bit as able as the rest of society.
